• Information you provide about allergens or ingredients
• Information about food quantities or estimated meals provided
• Information relating to food exchanges and listings
• Information you provide when communicating with other users
• Other information necessary to operate the Platform

A Bite Away may also collect information automatically when you use the Platform, including information about how you interact with the app and certain device or usage information.

To operate the Platform and measure its community impact, A Bite Away may collect information associated with food listings and exchanges, including:

• Listings created
• Listings claimed
• Exchange activity
• Dates and times associated with listings and exchanges
• Donor and recipient account identifiers
• ZIP code associated with an exchange
• User-entered meal-equivalent estimates
• Calculated estimated pounds of food shared

A Bite Away may use this information to measure food-sharing activity and community impact.

Meal-equivalent information is based on estimates provided by users. A Bite Away may use a methodology of 1 meal equivalent = 1.2 pounds of food for impact reporting.

A Bite Away uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform and to measure Platform activity.

Firebase Analytics may collect information about app usage and user engagement, including events and other usage information. Firebase provides tools that allow app developers to configure analytics collection and reporting.

A Bite Away may use analytics information to understand things such as:

• User registration and account activity
• Active users
• Listings created
• Listings claimed
• Exchange activity
• Food categories posted and claimed
• Activity by ZIP code
• Listings posted, claimed, or expired
• Use of Platform features
• Overall Platform performance and engagement

We may use this information for operational purposes, product improvement, community-impact measurement, grant reporting, and potential future funding opportunities.

We do not use analytics information to intentionally identify individual users for purposes unrelated to operating, improving, measuring, or reporting on the Platform.

A Bite Away may use information we collect to:

A Bite Away currently uses information such as the ZIP code and address information provided by users to help determine service-area eligibility and connect users with nearby listings.

A Bite Away does not currently collect precise GPS location from your device.

A Bite Away may introduce additional location-based features in the future. If our practices change in a way that materially affects the information we collect or how we use it, we may update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or choices required by applicable law.

Users may submit photographs, food descriptions, listing information, messages, and other content through the Platform.

We may collect, store, process, display, and use this content as necessary to:

• Operate the Platform
• Display food listings
• Facilitate food exchanges
• Improve the Platform
• Maintain safety and moderation
• Investigate reports or violations
• Promote A Bite Away where permitted

Users should avoid submitting personal information about themselves or others that is not necessary for using the Platform.

Certain information may be displayed to other A Bite Away users when necessary to facilitate food exchanges.

A Bite Away is designed so that users do not automatically receive another user’s private contact information unless that information is provided or shared through the Platform.

Users should exercise care when voluntarily sharing personal information with other users.

A Bite Away may use third-party service providers to help operate, maintain, analyze, secure, and improve the Platform.

These providers may process information on A Bite Away’s behalf for purposes related to providing their services.

For example, A Bite Away uses Firebase Analytics for analytics and usage measurement. Firebase and related Google services may process information according to their applicable terms and privacy practices.

A Bite Away does not sell users’ personal information as a source of revenue.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• Investigate fraud, abuse, or violations

• Active ZIP codes

Reports may be provided to grantors, funders, partners, or other organizations in connection with A Bite Away’s operations and funding activities.

Where reasonably possible, reporting will use aggregated or de-identified information rather than information that directly identifies individual users.

You may delete your A Bite Away account through the Platform.

When you delete your account, A Bite Away will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to information that we may be required or permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate business purposes.

Information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be associated with you may be retained and used for analytics, reporting, and research purposes.

A Bite Away uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

A Bite Away retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the Platform, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, protect the Platform, and maintain appropriate business and financial records.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

A Bite Away is intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old.

A Bite Away does not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to create accounts or use the Platform.

If we learn that an individual under 18 has created an account, we may take steps to remove the account and associated information.
